We set off from the shelter along a meandering path and within a few minutes we reach the road by the Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza “Mickiewicza Waterfalls). The road runs parallel to the red trail heading in the direction of Morskie Oko and Rysy. We cross the road and enter the Roztoka Valley by following the green signs.

This is one of the most popular trails leading to the Five Polish Lakes Valley and also by far the easiest and the least dangerous. This section of the route runs through the forest. The beginning is quite tiring, as we climb up a steep stone pavement. After several minutes of hiking the trail becomes more enjoyable, from time to time crossing wooden planks and bridges as the path weaves either side of the Roztoka Brook. After another 30 minutes on the right side, the ridge of Woloszyn emerges, known as the kingdom of Tatra bears. At the same time to our left from time to time we see fragments of Orla Sciana (Eagle Wall).

After less than an hour wandering the valley, we come to a clearing with a small hut, perfectly suitable for a relaxing break. Just beyond the clearing, we cross two bridges and the road rises more steeply taking us out of the woods. The clearances on the left offer a view of the impressive cliffs falling from Swistowka, while on the right we pass a large block of rock known as Dziadula, which rises just above the creek. Hiking through the valley is very simple, but can be tiring. The stone path, running under cables used to transport supplies to the shelter, leads to a fork in the trails.

To the left, a weaving black trail which runs for about half an hour towards the shelter. Green signs lead straight and after some time, the trails begins to zigzag among the mountain pine. After crossing the rocky gates located about 20 minutes from the split in the trails, we come to the Siklawa waterfall. It is the most powerful waterfall in the Tatras, at almost 70 metres tall, separating the Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich (Five Polish Lakes Valley) and Roztoka Valley. Further on, the trail leads over several slabs of rock and leads us above the waterfall, onto the valley where we can see Wielki Staw (Great Lake). To get to the shelter, we must turn left and head along the bank of Przedni Staw (Front Lake).
