The trip to Grzes, Rakon and Wolowiec is excellent for people of all ages. grzes-view4

When we come to the shelter on the Polana Chochołowska (Chocholowska Glade), we turn right following the yellow trail. Moments later, signposts appear for Grzes and Wolowiec. We treck through the forest for about 50 minutes (look out for a magnificent view of the Kominiarski Wierch!) until we reach the level on which mountain pine grows abundantly (fairly mild approach). In winter this way also serves as a downhill track. Soon the trail on Grzes turns off to the left. First, however, I suggest you go to the right, ie Bobrowiecka Pass (walking time: 10 minutes), from which we can closely view Bobrowiec – a peak inaccessible to tourists.A relaxing pause in the area prepares us for the trip ahead. The route onto Grzes from Bobrowiec follows the same route, which we previously completed. Following the above-described intersection, the angle of the slope increases. The path wraps around several times as we wanderthrough the forest and dwarf mountain pine. The first peak, Grzes, is summited without any great difficulty. The trail onto Grzes from Rakoń leads along a very gentle ridge. Initially we descend a little (mountain pine all around us, now along the blue trail), but then we start to approach the next ascent, descend slightly and continue going straight onto Rakon. On the right, the eye can feast on the panorama of the Slovak part of the western Tatras. We keep following the same route onto Wolowiec. Soon we get to the Zawracie Pass, where there is a high risk of avalanches in the winter.

We are left with only half an hour walk (though quite strenuous). A little more than 300 meters away, the routes cross over: blue and green leading to the Polana Chochołowska (Chochołowska Glade) via the Dolina Chochołowska Wyżnia (Wyżnia Chocholowska Valley). Despite the simplicity of the road, one should be careful as there are steep drops either side. We can make our return in either of two ways: either go through Wyznia Chocholowska Valley onto Chocholowska Glade, or continue to Konczysty Wierch and turn onto Trzydniowanski Wierch.
