At the crossroads by the Wyżnia Brama Chochołowska (Upper Chocholowska Gate), take the black trail and enter Starorobocianska Valley, which is the largest branch of the Chocholowska Valley, wandering through the forest along a simple path.

Soon we approach Iwanowka Glade and continue to follow the black trail (yellow leads to Iwaniacka Pass). Soon after, we pass through Polana Starorobociańska (Starorobocianska Glade), then enter the woods again, where we ascend gently for the next 45 minutes. When you finally reach the mountain pine floor, you will see Starorobocianski Wierch in full glory. More or less from that moment onwards the approach becomes much steeper.

The path is paved and carries us through the Żleb Pod Pyszną (Under Pyszna Couloir) until we get to Siwa Przełecz (Gray Pass). This is the end of the black trail. Continue along a broad ridge until the trail narrows and leads through a short traverse. Fifteen minutes later we are at the Raczkowa Przełecz (Raczkowa Pass) and continue the trek along the red trail towards the west where once again the angle increases.

For a large part of the last stage we walk parallel to a fairly steep and dangerous slope. In addition, the trail zigzags. The Starorobociaski Wierch is only about another 30 minutes away at this point and from the top we can enjoy a wonderful panorama of the Western Tatras. We can return the same way we came, via Ornak or continue the trip through Konczysty and Jarzabczy Peaks, as described in one of the next sections of the guide.
