“Cultural and Exciting..”

Welcome to the ZakopaneGO Travelbloggers Q&A sessions. Today we’re joined by one of the beauty queens of the webspace, Tanisha.
Hi Tanisha, before we start I have to say, your photo diary from Poland made me crave ice-cream like crazy! I literally had to control my munchies just to get this interview sorted. Tell us a few words about yourself first. Who is the Street Lotus?

Hi, I’m Tanisha, the blogger behind The Street Lotus; a Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle Blog from Canada. So far, I’ve visited Poland, Amsterdam, Florida, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, and New York.

That’s quite a list already! What motivated you to go out and see the world?

I started travelling when I was very young and l’ve always had a need to see the rest of the world and experience different cultures. I’m from Canada and sometimes in the city I’m from it can feel like there isn’t much for young adults to do, so travelling is always an amazing experience; triying new things and meeting new people is always great.

As a travelblogger, you know how globetrotting can change a person’s life and open them up to new cultures, perspectives and experiences. What made you choose Zakopane as one of your pit-stops?

Zakopane is a very unique town, it has it’s own mountaineer culture which I wanted to experience and I was really interested in visiting the top of the Kasprowy Wierch which was beautiful and breathtaking. I love the simplicity of everything, its very relaxing.

What time of the year did you visit and why?

I visited near the end of May this year. I had originally come to Krakow for a wedding but I had a few days to do some sight-seeing before that.

Where did you stay and how would you rate the facilities?

I did not stay the night at Zakopane as I only visited for the day and later returned to Central Krakow where I stayed with family.

What would you say was the highlight of your trip?

Other than trying some amazing cheese, hearing great live music, and seeing beautiful architecture, the highlight of my trip to Zakopane had to be reaching the top of the Kasprowy Wierch and being surrounded by snow and a winter-wonderland view, it was beautiful!

I agree, the peak offers a fantastic 360 degree panorama which spans across the Tatra range. Other than hiking however, what activities would you have liked to see made available to travellers visiting the region?

I found the current activities available at Zakopane are more than enough, I had a great time because there was so much to do.

What else could the city improve on to enhance the experience of tourism in the area?

I found the city to be very cultural and exciting, there isnt anything in particular that I would say needs to be improved as i enjoyed just about everything.

Your top travel tips for visiting the city/region?

If you’re visiting Zakopane I highly recommend taking the time to either hike or ride the gondola to the top of the mountain because it is beautiful, also take the time to stroll down the street Krupowki because there is a ton of activities going on there.

Tell us, where’s next on your bucket-list?

I’m planning to maybe visit New York City for a few days and then back to exploring Europe as soon as I can.

We hope you do! Last one, you have to put someone on the spot here. Your RSVP or nomination for the next ZakopaneGO Travebloggers chat?

Laila Loves (lailaloves.co.uk) is one of my favourite travel bloggers.
