“Tatra mountains are breathtaking…”

Welcome to the ZakopaneGO Travelbloggers Q&A sessions. Today we’re joined by some travelling business heads. Please introduce yourselves and let our readers know what’s good!

We are Karolina and Patryk, travel, adventure and business freaks. We are traveling around the world for 2 years now and we are sure we want to spend the rest of our life exploring new countries, having fun and love each other like we do right now :). Places we’ve visited so far include Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, United Arab Emirates, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Turkey, Greece, USA, Canada, Dominican Republic, France and Italy.

What motivated you to go out and see the world?

Curiosity! We wanted to know how it is to be in the places we saw in the movies. Eat famous pizza in Italy. Talk in English in America. Drink fresh coconut water. Learn how to cook Thai food. See the view from the Eiffel Tower. And so on and so forth ;).

As travelbloggers, you know how globetrotting can change a person’s life and open them up to new cultures, perspectives and experiences. What made you choose Zakopane as one of your pit-stops?

We were both born and raised in Poland. When we were teenagers, the whole country went crazy about ski jumping and Adam Malysz. One of the best ski jumping hill is situated in Zakopane, so we wanted to visit this place.
Also, Tatra mountains are very beautiful! Morse Oko is magical place, some people say it’s the most beautiful lake on Earth.

What time of the year did you visit and why?

We were in Zakopane in April. It’s off the season, so it was less crowded. We don’t like you touristic places, so spring was perfect time for us.

Where did you stay and how would you rate the facilities?

We were staying in Alpine Apartamenty. This place is really awesome! Rooms have kitchenette, fridge and stylish design. Location is great, within the walking distance to Krupowki, Nosal Ski Centre and Zakopane train station.

Highlight of your trip?

Nothing spectacular had happened. We were just walking around, relaxing and breathing the fresh, sprightly, mountain air! Zakopane really is an amazing place to calm down, relax and distance from everyday life.

What activities would you have liked to see made available to travellers visiting the region?

We understand Polish, so it was easy for us to travel around Zakopane. It may be sometimes difficult for foreigners, though. More English subtitles and English-speaking people in hotels and restaurant would be a great improvment :).

What else could the city improve on to enhance the experience of tourism in the area?

We can’t think of anything. Zakopane is awesome, Tatra mountains are breathtaking, so there’s nothing else to improve!

Your top travel tips for visiting the city/region?

Spend as much time there as possible, haha.
Seriously. If you stay only few days, you will regret it. One week is the absolute minimum.

Where’s next on your bucket-list?

Georgia! In October :).
